Columbia University president needs to go: Letters to the Editor — April 27, 2024
NY Post
The Issue: Calls for Columbia University President Minouche Shafik to resign for her handling of protests.
I agree with The Post that Columbia University President Minouche Shafik should resign (“Shafik Must Go,” Editorial, April 23).
However, her resignation will not end the festering epidemic of antisemitism that is rapidly growing, not only in colleges and universities, but all over the United States.
I sometimes feel like I am in a time warp and living in Berlin, Germany, circa 1933.
I never believed I would live to see such antisemitism in America.
It is especially disturbing since Israel is being blamed for defending itself and fighting for its existence.

Imagine if Allied intelligence had located Adolf Hitler in late May 1944 and killed him before the Normandy invasion. Imagine that in the same hour, strikes eliminated Hitler’s designated successor, the head of the German Armed Forces High Command, the chief operational planner of the war effort, Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, responsible for defending Western Europe, and the rest of Germany’s field marshals and senior commanders.
