Collector flags off educational tour for differently abled students in Salem

Salem District Collector promotes education and awareness for differently-abled students through tours, street plays, and oratorical competitions.
Salem District Collector R. Brindha Devi flagged off an educational tour for differently-abled students at the Collectorate on Tuesday.
The educational tour to Yercaud was arranged for 50 differently-abled children, and they were given a tour of the Yercaud Boat House, Anna Park and other places in the hill station.
The Collector also inaugurated the street plays to create awareness about government welfare schemes for differently-abled people and about their rights. Financial assistance was extended for the education and marriage of the differently-abled, and petrol scooters were also provided for them. Ms. Brindha Devi added.
Earlier, the Collector inaugurated oratorical competitions for college students at the Kumarasamipatti Government Arts College on behalf of the Tamil Nadu State Minorities Commission. Participants delivered elocutions on 10 topics in Tamil and English. The winners of this competition will participate in the State-level elocution competition.
