CNN Fact Checker Exposes Trump’s Claims On Bill That Are ‘Wildly, Categorically Inaccurate’

“It objectively does not” do what the president claims it will, said Daniel Dale.
CNN fact checker Daniel Dale says it’s an “objective fact” the One Big Beautiful Bill Act contains consequential provisions that President Donald Trump claims it doesn’t.
“Some of the president’s recent comments, Pamela, have been wildly, categorically inaccurate,” Dale told anchors Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown on “The Situation Room With Wolf Blitzer” Monday.
The program then aired a clip of Trump promoting the Republican tax and spending bill Thursday at the White House, in which the president said, “We’re cutting $1.7 trillion in this bill, and you’re not going to feel any of it. And your Medicaid is left alone. It’s left the same. Your Medicare and your Social Security are strengthened. We’re not cutting.”
The bill is currently being debated in the U.S. Senate ahead of the arbitrary July 4 deadline Trump has imposed for its passage.
“Whatever the merits of this legislation, and you can certainly defend this legislation as Republicans have been doing, it objectively does not leave Medicaid the same,” said Dale. “It is objective fact that this legislation makes major changes and indeed major cuts.”
