
Civil contractor mowed down by trailer while cycling in Navi Mumbai

A civil contractor was mowed down by a trailer while cycling on the Sion-Panvel highway at Kharghar creek bridge on Sunday morning.
A civil contractor from Mumbai died after being hit by a multi-axle trailer vehicle on the Sion-Panvel highway at Kharghar creek bridge on Sunday morning. Nitin Shah, a 50-year-old resident of Vile Parle, was riding a bicycle along with a group of cyclists, including his family and friends from Mumbai, to Lonavala at 6.45 am, when he was hit by a trailer which was taking a left turn to head towards Roadpali. The trailer dragged the cyclist for about 20 metres leading to Nitin Shah's death on the spot. Senior inspector Anand Chavan of Kharghar traffic unit confirmed the accident. An FIR has been registered against the absconding trailer driver who has been booked under relevant IPC Sections and Motor Vehicle Act for rash and negligent driving causing the death of the cyclist.More Related News
