
Christmas-New Year celebrations: BMC forms teams to crack down on Covid-norm violators

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has formed teams in its wards to crack down on Covid-norm violators ahead of the Christmas and New Year's celebrations.
In anticipation of people coming out for Christmas and New Year's celebrations, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has formed teams in its wards to check and penalise Covid-norm violators.
Additional BMC Commissioner Suresh Kakani told India Today TV that orders had been issued in this regard. "We have two teams in each ward to ensure all Covid protocols are followed," he said.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
