Cholera cases: Addl. DC visits PHC in Shantinagar

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru P. Shivaraju visited the Primary Health Centre in Shantinagar in Mysuru on Saturday in the wake of complaints of cholera, diarrhoea and vomiting from the residents of the area.

Mr. Shivaraju, who is also the officer in-charge of Mysuru taluk, visited the PHC following directions from the State Chief Secretary. Instances of cholera, diarrhoea and vomiting after consumption of contaminated water had been reported from the locality two days ago.
During his visit, Mr. Shivaraju interacted with the patients and their relatives and asked about the availability of medical services. He advised the doctors to issue appropriate guidance on the treatment of the patients.
Mr. Shivaraju also issued instructions to take precautionary measures and ensure that such cases do not recur. He directed that medical checks be conducted for children in government schools and necessary steps be taken to protect and improve their health.
Mr. Shivaraju also asked the public to meet officials of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) whenever they face any problem in supply of clean drinking water.
Mysuru district Surveillance Officer Nagaraj was also present on the occasion.
