The London Police Service Human Trafficking Unit says it's found three more victims and laid a slew of additional charges in relation to a lengthy investigation that began in June 2020.
Two people from Cambridge and one from Brampton together are facing 34 new charges. They include trafficking of a person under the age of 18 years, material benefit from sexual services and sexual assault.
The investigation has involved five police forces including London, Waterloo, the Ontario Provincial Police, Sudbury and Guelph. Police say the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) has also been involved.
One person remains in custody. The two others have been released and are scheduled to appear in court in January.
The investigation is ongoing and police are encouraging victims or witnesses to come forward.
