Porter to offer daily Charlottetown-Montreal Metropolitan Airport flights this summer

A new daily non-stop flight between Charlottetown and Montreal is set to begin this summer.
Porter Airlines will launch the seasonal service between the two cities starting June 18, the Charlottetown Airport Authority said in a news release Tuesday. The authority's CEO, Doug Newson, said the flights will run until Sept. 7.
The route will connect P.E.I. to Porter’s new terminal at Montreal Metropolitan Airport, offering travellers another option to access the Montreal area as well as connections to the airline’s broader network, the release said.
“This is an exciting and important addition to air service at Charlottetown,” Newson was quoted as saying in the release.
“It strengthens our connectivity and supports both business and leisure travel to and from Prince Edward Island.”
In the release, Porter Airlines CEO Michael Deluce said the new service will give Islanders the opportunity to use both the new Montreal Metropolitan Airport and Montréal-Trudeau International Airport.
Deluce said the carrier is the only airline serving both locations, "offering passengers more choice and flexibility on a number of routes and destinations."
