The Chandigarh administration is planning to make the city carbon-free by 2030 amid rising pollution. The plan was discussed in a two-day workshop on 'Future Ready Chandigarh 2030 and Beyond'. The UT administrator, Banwari Lal Purohit, officially opened the workshop at Hotel Mountview on Monday.
According to a report published in the Indian Express (IE), the workshop has been organised by the Chandigarh administration and is supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The objective of the workshop was to lay down the desired future roadmap for the city with the objective of sustainable improvement of the urban infrastructure.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
