
CBI files chargesheet against 3 people for defrauding government firm of Rs 36 crore

The CBI has filed a chargesheet against three people for allegedly defrauding PEC Limited, which is a Government of India enterprise, of Rs 36 crore.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against three people, including a partner of a Mumbai-based firm and a proprietor of another firm, for allegedly defrauding a government enterprise of Rs 36 crore.
Sanjeev Chandan, the partner of AS Foods, Sandesh Salgaonkar (proprietor) and MM Amare, an employee of Preeti Shipping Agency, have been chargesheeted by the CBI for causing loss to PEC Limited, which is a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Commerce.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
