
CBI busts recruitment racket in DGMS, registers case against DDG of Mines Safety

The CBI has busted a recruitment racket in DGMS and registered a case against several individuals, including the deputy director general of Mines Safety.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has busted a recruitment racket involving the deputy director general (DDG) of Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS). According to the CBI officials, the DDG and a few others were allegedly involved in manipulation and influencing the members of interview board for ensuring qualification of certain candidates in oral examination in lieu of huge amount of bribe. The CBI has filed an FIR against the Deputy Director General (Central Zone) Arvind Kumar, DGMS, head office, Dhanbad, his relative Kailash Mandal, one Triloki Nath Singh and other unknown persons on the allegations that they had entered into a conspiracy to show undue favours to some of the candidates in the recruitment examination.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
