
CBI arrests senior Indian Railways engineer, 1 other in bribery case

The CBI apprehended Ranjit Kumar Borah, Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer (Coaching) in the Indian Railways, and one more person in an alleged bribery case of Rs 15 lakh on Tuesday in Assam’s Guwahati.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) apprehended Ranjit Kumar Borah, Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer (Coaching) in the Indian Railways, and one more person in an alleged bribery case of Rs 15 lakh on Tuesday in Assam’s Guwahati.
A case has been registered against Ranjit Kumar Borah, Chintan Jain, Niraj Kumar and other unidentified public servants and private persons. Chintan Jain, who allegedly gave the Indian Railways engineer a bribe, is the director of Sun Shine Devices Private Limited in Patna while Niraj Kumar is his employee.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
