CBI arrests Chandigarh police officer in bribery case 

The CBI has arrested a female officer of the Chandigarh Police in a bribery case, according to officials.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a female officer of the Chandigarh Police in a bribery case, officials said. Sub-inspector Sarabjit Kaur, posted at Chandigarh’s Sector 34 police station, was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant, as per officials.

A man approached the CBI regarding Sarabjit Kaur after she allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh from him to remove his name from an FIR which was being investigated by her. He had purportedly approached the sub-inspector at the police station to tell her that he was not connected with the FIR.
