
Car used by Anubrata Mondal found inside rice mill during CBI raid

A car used by arrested TMC leader Anubrata Mondal was found inside a rice mill in Bolpur during CBI raid.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday conducted raid and search operation at a rice mill in Bolpur, which is allegedly owned by arrested Trinamool Congress leader Anubrata Mondal. The agency found an SUV, which was used by Anubrata Mondal during his visit to SSKM hospital in Kolkata, on the mill premises.
The agency raided Bhole Bam rice mill in Bolpur on Friday. The CBI team was initially stopped by guards stationed outside the rice mill from entering inside.
According to CBI sources, Anubrata Mondal and his daughter, Sukanya, used to visit the rice mill regularly.

Anubrata Mandal was arrested a few days back by the CBI in connection with the cattle smuggling case. The central agency had summoned Mandal ten times before picking him up from his residence in Bolpur.
According to CBI, the accused allegedly assisted and showed fictitious business activities to regularise the ill-gotten money. The CBI believes that the proceeds from cattle smuggling had been used in these businesses by the accused.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
