
Capt Amarinder to remain Punjab CM, Sidhu to head state Congress as party ends stalemate

Congress has finally achieved a truce between Sidhu and Amarinder Singh. While Navjot Singh Sidhu will be appointed the PCC chief, Amarinder Singh will continue as Punjab CM.
Putting an end to the ongoing crisis in Punjab Congress, the party seems to have reached a consensus between Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu. In the new formula, Capt Amarinder Singh will remain the chief minister while Sidhu will be appointed the president of Punjab Congress. Punjab Congress may have finally achieved a truce between Amarinder Singh and Sidhu who have been at loggerheads for months in the run-up to the Punjab assembly elections.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
