Cabinet gives its nod to several key policies in Andhra Pradesh. IT Global Capability Centres, Textile and Garments, and Maritime policies among them. It also decides to observe December 15, death anniversary of Potti Sriramulu, as ‘Atmarpana Samsmarana Day’.
The Andhra Pradesh State Cabinet on December 3 (Tuesday) approved the IT Global Capability Centres Policy 4.0, the Textile, Apparel, and Garments Policy, and the A.P. Maritime Policy.
The Cabinet also cleared the Amendment to Ayurveda, Homeopath Practitioners Registration Act.
In another major decision, the Cabinet decided to observe December 15, the death anniversary of Potti Sriramulu, as ‘Atmarpana Samsmarana Day’.
Disclosing the details of the Cabinet meeting, Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy said the Textile, Apparel, and Garments Policy 2024-29 aimed at attracting ₹10,000 crore in investments.
“It includes significant benefits to the handloom workers and Padmasali communities with extensive subsidies. The government also plans to set up five textile parks under the PPP model,” the Minister said.
The maritime policy would mark a significant step towards boosting the State’s maritime activities, he added.
The Cabinet also gave its nod to the Co-Working Space Policy. The government decided to create co-working spaces and neighbourhood working spaces to support industrialists and entrepreneurs.
