During the first week, after the President’s address to members of both the Houses and Budget presentation, 26 Rajya Sabha members discussed the motion of thanks to the President's address for 7 hours 41 minutes.

A total of 12 hours have been allotted for this discussion, including the reply by the Prime Minister likely on February 8.
After the prime minister's reply, the Union Budget for 2022-23 will be discussed for 11 hours and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will reply on Friday.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
