The Union Budget 2026-2027 prioritizes industry and education, emphasizing development and support for girls' hostels and tourism.
Terming the Union Budget for 2026-2027 as one that is in the interest of the people, Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly R. Ashok on Sunday said that the Budget has prioritised industries and education.
“I feel it is for the first time that the Centre has proposed to build hostels for girls in every district. For the first time, encouragement is being provided to conserve and grow sandalwood in new areas, and to promote coconut at the international level. The Budget has provided a proposal for tourism development,” he said after watching the Budget at the BJP’s State office here.
The former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa expressed happiness that over 25 crore of the country’s population had come out of poverty in the last 10 years. He expressed happiness with the announcement of a new high-speed rail corridor for the State, the development of 500 reservoirs in the country, the conservation of archaeological sites, and promoting cashew and cocoa as premium brands by 2030.
