BSF intensifies vigil along Jammu border after security threat input ahead of Republic Day

The BSF has received inputs that anti-national elements are likely to create trouble on Republic Day.
The Border Security Force, Jammu Frontier, has intensified vigil and strengthened its troops in view of another security threat ahead of the Republic Day celebrations in India.

Issuing another alert of security threat, IG of BSF of the Jammu Frontier DK Boora said, “We have received inputs that anti-national elements are likely to create trouble on the occasion of Republic Day. We have heightened our vigil along the border. The maximum number of troops has been stationed along the border.”
“We are carrying out anti-tunnel exercises, anti-drone exercises. Terrorists and anti-national elements won't be able to succeed in their plans,” he added.

Earlier, a nine-page intelligence input had indicated that there was a threat to PM Narendra Modi and other dignitaries who would be present at the Republic Day celebrations. The note mentioned that the threat had come from groups based out of the Pakistan/Afghanistan-Pakistan region. These groups aimed to target highly placed dignitaries and sabotage/disrupt public gatherings, crucial establishments, and crowded places.
