A Border Security Force constable injured during cross-border firing from Pakistan in Jammu’s R.S Pura sector a day ago died on Sunday (May 11, 2025), the BSF said.
Deepak Chimngakham, hailing from Manipur, was among the eight BSF personnel injured in shelling from Pakistan in the early hours of May 10.

Since Operation Sindoor commenced on May 7, as many as 18 civilians and seven security personnel have been killed in heavy shelling and firing from across the border.
“We salute the supreme sacrifice made by BSF #Braveheart Constable (GD) Deepak Chimngakham in the service of the nation; he sustained fatal injuries during cross-border firing along the International Boundary in R.S. Pura area, Jammu on 10 May 2025, and attained martyrdom on 11 May 2025,” the BSF posted on X.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday (May 11, 2025) paid tributes to Sub-Inspector Md. Imtiaz from Bihar, among the eight injured BSF personnel, who passed away on Saturday (May 10, 2025).
He also paid tributes to the Army Rifleman Sunil Kumar from Jammu, who was killed in the line of duty in Jammu’s R.S. Pura sector on May 10.
