The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has hastened the work on the road connecting Nubra valley to the DBO area. This comes after reports emerged that China was building a second bridge across Pangong Tso in eastern Ladakh. The new road will provide an alternative for the Indian forces to reach the Depsang plains and move to the Chinese front.
Government sources told India Today that the road would pass through Saser Pass in Ladakh and connect the two valleys. The work has gained pace as it is the working season and construction activity has increased in the area.
Meanwhile, the Indian security forces, including the army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) are holding multiple joint exercises all along the LAC to improve their wartime preparedness. After the Chinese aggression in 2020 to force a unilateral change in status quo, the Indian Army has changed the operational tasks of five of its divisions from the Ladakh sector to Arunachal Pradesh. It also shifted its focus from the Pakistan front towards China.
The road infrastructure has also been upgraded heavily by the army. The road network along the Khardung La pass has also been upgraded, increasing access from Leh to the China front.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

India's original Dhurandhar, Ravindra Kaushik, rose from acting at college theatres, to infiltrating the Pakistan Army as a RAW Agent. He provided critical intelligence on Pakistani troop movements and the country's nuclear programme, but died a lonely death after his betrayal and subsequent capture by the ISI.
