Easing restrictions in place to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission in Mumbai, the BMC on Monday allowed essential businesses to remain open between 7 am and 2 pm on all days of the week.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray made the announcement during a press conference on Sunday. Relaxations will be given in districts where cases are dropping and stringent restrictions will be enforced in parts of the state witnessing an upward trajectory in terms of cases of infection, CM Thackeray had said.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
