Brazil great Ronaldo tests positive for Covid-19, joins list of big names in football

Ronaldo's first-ever club Cruzeiro said on Sunday that the Brazil great has tested positive for Covid-19 because of which he had to cancel his appearance at the club's 101st anniversary.

Brazil football great Ronaldo has tested positive for Covid-19, his boyhood club Cruzeiro has said. Ronaldo had recently bought a majority stake of the struggling club and they announced on Sunday that the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan star would not be able to attend their 101st anniversary celebrations due to testing positive.

The 45-year-old ex-striker "is fine, with light symptoms, and will now undergo a period of rest and social isolation, in line with medical advice", Cruzeiro, who Ronaldo bought last month, said on Twitter.
