
Bootlegger and aides arrested for thrashing cops in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad

A bootlegger and his aides have been arrested for allegedly thrashing three cops in Ahmedabad's Naroda area, a video of which went viral on social media.
A video of three policemen being thrashed by a bootlegger and his aides in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad has gone viral on social media. Six people have been arrested in connection with the matter.
The incident occurred when three policemen went to a place near Naroda ST workshop to nab the brother of bootlegger Jignesh Parmar on Thursday. As soon as they spotted the police team, Parmar and his aides allegedly attacked the cops, who were outnumbered.
The video shows the rowdies chasing down the policemen and assaulting them with sticks and rods. The cops were punched, kicked and abused by the accused.
After the video went viral, a complaint was lodged at Naroda Police Station. Crime branch and police kicked off a massive search operation and the six accused, including a minor, have been arrested in the case.
The accused have been identified as Jignesh alias Jigo Solanki, Baldev Solanki, Umesh Vanzara, Anil alias Kali Solanki, Bholo alias Navdeep Sindhe and Pankaj Thakore. The minor who was also involved in the attack has been rounded up by the police.
