
Bombay HC grants relief to Union Minister Narayan Rane; no arrest till Sept 17

The Union Minister was granted relief from arrest by Bombay High Court in connection to an FIR lodged against him in Nashik. The court will again hear the plea on September 17.
The Bombay high court has granted relief to Union minister Narayan Rane from arrest in the FIR registered against him at Nashik. His lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, sought relief from arrest that should be extended to three other FIRs registered against him. "No process of 41 A, of giving summons was done and the magistrate had castigated them on Tuesday night when he was produced before the court. And that, too, when they made amends. So, protection should be with regards to all FIRs concerning the press conference. Else, they will take action," said Maneshidne.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
