Bombay High Court extends Varavara Rao's bail till February 5. Rao, an accused in 2018 Bhima Koregaon violence case is currently out on medical bail.
The Bombay High Court on Friday extended the bail granted to Telugu poet and activist Varavara Rao accused in 2018 Bhima Koregaon violence and asked the National Investigation Agency (NIA) whether Rao should be sent back to prison amid the third wave of Covid infection.
A bench headed by Justice SS Shinde said the matter will be heard on merit but asked NIA whether Rao with declining health should be sent back to prison.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
