Central Reserve Police Force personnel recovered the body of a soldier, who was washed away by strong currents, from an overflowing drain in Chattishgarh’s Bijapur after five hours.
Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel have recovered the body of a soldier, who was swept away by strong currents in Chattishgarh’s Bijapur, from an overflowing drain after five hours.
The soldier of the CRPF’s Cobra 210 Battalion had gone out patrolling with his team on Saturday night near the Mukur camp in the Silger area.

Due to heavy rains, the river drain nearby started overflowing and the constable, Suraj R from Kerala, got washed away by strong currents after he lost his balance.

The CRPF personnel soon launched a search operation and fished out the soldier’s body after five hours.
The soldiers also found his weapons. The soldier’s body was sent for an autopsy and later dispatched to his native village.
