Bodies of Covid victims pile up at Ranchi cremation ground, Jharkhand HC slams authorities

The Jharkhand High Court reprimanded the officers on Monday for the delay in the last rites of bodies of the Covid-19 patients.

The Jharkhand High Court slammed authorities on Monday after the bodies of some Covid-19 victims were seen piled up at Muktidham (cremation ground) in Ranchi’s Harmu area. The court reprimanded officials for the delay in the last rites, saying that “it is the responsibility of the Ranchi municipal corporation and others to ensure that there is no issue in conducting last rites.” Bodies of Covid victims were cremated at an electric crematorium but it’s gone out of order.
