
BMW owner booked for running over traffic cop in Bhopal

A case has been filed against a BMW owner who ran over a traffic cop in Bhopal on Sunday afternoon.
A BMW driver hit a traffic constable who was performing his duty at TT Nagar Square, said the police on Sunday. A video of the incident has also gone viral on social media.
According to the police, the BMW driver was not wearing a seat belt. When the traffic officer tried to stop the vehicle for violating the rule, the driver got out of the car and began arguing. Following a heated argument, the accused got into his car and hit the constable before fleeing the scene.
While the identity of the man driving the BMW is unknown, a case has been filed against him at the TT Nagar police station based on the vehicle's licence plate number.
Chain Singh Raghuvanshi, incharge of the TT Nagar police station, told Aaj Tak/India Today that a case has been filed against the car driver under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and that a search for him is underway.
