BJP targets Maharashtra government over summons to senior IPS officer Rashmi Shukla

The BJP has hit out at the Maharashtra government over summons issued to senior IPS officer Rashmi Shukla by the Mumbai Police.

The BJP has targeted the Maharashtra government over Mumbai Police's summons to senior IPS officer Rashmi Shukla. “The senior IPS officer with proof and documentation brought out corruption worth crores of rupees in the transfer of police officers in the state before the Maharashtra government. In normal circumstances when a police officer brings out corruption practices in front of the government then that officer is applauded by the government but instead of applauding the efforts this government is daring to frame the very officer as an accused in the case," he said. "Why didn’t the government act on the report given by the officer? The reason - if they had acted upon the report then they would have been exposed. And that’s why the three alliance partners are targeting the officer. What sort of message is being given with the move?” he asked.
