A BJP leader was attacked by six people, including two members of his own party in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore. The incident was caught on camera.
BJP weaver's wing secretary Jayakumar was attacked by six assailants in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore on March 30. The incident was caught on camera.
Jayakumar sustained injuries to his head and filed a complaint with the police in which he stated that on March 30 at around 4.30 am, Karthik and Muthukumar, two BJP cadres, came to his photo studio and threatened him not to participate in the upcoming internal elections for party posts in Tamil Nadu BJP.
The argument turned violent as Karthik and Muthukumar attacked Jayakumar. Soon, four others joined in the assault on Jayakumar. According to Jaykumar, Karthik also stabbed him with a knife.
After recovering from his injuries, Jaykumar filed a complaint and handed over a Pendrive that had visuals of the attack to the D1 Ramanathapuram Police station. Further investigation is underway.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
