
Bird Flu Scare: 5,819 poultry birds found dead in Maharashtra

The Maharashtra government has promised Rs.338.13 lakh compensation for the loss of the poultry farmers.
Maharashtra government has released fresh data on poultry bird mortality. As per the latest figures, a total of 5,819 poultry birds were reported dead on March 13 in the state including 5,806 in Amravati and 13 in Nandurbar district. Deaths among other birds like herons, sparrows, parrots, crows etc have not been reported yet. As per normal procedure, the samples have been sent to the National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases in Bhopal and Disease Investigation Section in Pune for testing.More Related News
