Bhopal cops adorn plain clothes to enforce mask use as Covid cases surge
India Today
As Covid cases are increasing in Bhopal, the police officials have adorned plain clothes to ensure mask use in the city.
The Bhopal Police launched a mask checking drive to penalise people if found wearing a mask in the city earlier this month. This decision was taken to control the spread of the infection in the city and police personnel along with the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials could be seen checking the masks on roads, bus stands and other busy areas of the city.
But now, the administration has appeared to have changed its strategy of stopping people on the road and fine them for not wearing masks as they were seen doing earlier. They have added an element of surprise to catch people in public places and penalise them for the lapse.
