Akshay Kumar’s horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla has got a new release date as Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to dominate the box-office. The makers announced on Thursday (April 2, 2026) that the film, which was earlier set to be released on April 10, will now begin its paid previews on April 16 from 9 pm onwards.
The film’s producer Ektaa Kapoor said in a press release that the decision was taken after “extensive discussion and multiple requests” from their distribution partner and exhibitors across key markets. “Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is currently enjoying an exceptional run at the box office, which is great news for producers at large. Our exhibitors felt that giving it a clear, uninterrupted window would be in the best interest of the industry ecosystem,” she said.
Ektaa added, “By moving Bhooth Bangla ahead by a week, we are ensuring that both films get the theatrical space, marketing focus, and audience attention they truly deserve. We believe this approach benefits everyone — the filmmakers, the exhibitors, and most importantly, the audiences who get to experience each film without compromise.”
Bhooth Bangla marks the much-awaited reunion of Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan. With Akshay in the lead, the film also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, and Mithila Palkar in pivotal roles.
