The Mumbai cruise drugs case has brought WhatsApp chats in focus in terms of their legal value in a court of law. Lawyer Ali Kashif Khan, counsel for model Munmun Dhamecha -- one of those arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the case along with actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan -- said on Tuesday that the WhatsApp chats were not admissible in court.
Munmun Dhamecha's lawyer said, "Witnesses turning hostile will have an impact on the NBC's case. At today's hearing, we expect a reply from the NCB." He was referring to the bail hearing for Aryan Khan scheduled in the Bombay High Court on Tuesday.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
