Pankaj Mishra, the father of a 16-year-old girl who was at by a man for allegedly ghosting him online, recalled the harrowing experience his family went through.
The father of a 16-year-old girl, who was shot at by a man in Delhi's Sangam Vihar area on August 25, narrated his ordeal and the horror that his family went through. The minor was shot at by Arman alias Amanat Ali for allegedly ghosting him online on social media. He was arrested by Delhi Police on Thursday.
"We used to tell our daughter Beta ghar pe rehna padega. My daughter used to ask me Papa kab tak. My daughter is really sacred after the incident," the father of the girl, Pankaj Mishra, told India Today.
"She is so sacred that she wakes up due to the sound of horns of vehicles. We have sent her to some other place. She is just 16 years old. How will she survive the bullet stuck in her shoulder?," Pankaj Mishra asked.
Amanat Ali along with his two aides shot at a 16-year-old girl on her way back from school in the Tigri area of South Delhi last month. The accused informed the police during an interrogation that he was unhappy because the girl ghosted him and stopped talking to him, following which he made a plan to kill her.
"Arman Ali had been in touch with her for the last two years through social media. She had not been talking to him for 4-5 months, but he was still stalking her," the girl told the police.
