Outgoing Supreme Court judge L Nageswara Rao had starred in movies as a cop before he started practicing law.
New Delhi: Outgoing Supreme Court judge L Nageswara Rao had acted in several movies as a police inspector before he started practicing law.
During a farewell function organised by the Supreme Court bar association, vice-president Pradeep Rai revealed this fact about Justice Rao and said, "He has acted in many films as a police inspector.”
“He acted in the movie, Kanoon Apna Apna, alongside Kader Khan and Sanjay Dutt," Rai said.The movie Kanoon Apna Apna was released in 1989.
Though Justice Rao will retire on June 7 officially, today was his last working day as the Supreme Court goes on vacation from tomorrow till July 11.
Appreciating Justice Rao's acting skill, senior advocate Vikas Singh said, "Acting is a very difficult task, and if he has done that it shows how diverse his personality is."
Justice Rao said he was into the theatre during his college days and one of his cousins was a director, and that was how he ended up in films.
"I didn't want to become an actor. All of you know, lawyers act in courts.judges also do," he added.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
