Development work in and around Ayodhya is gaining momentum ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election. The construction of a revamped Ayodhya railway station, estimated to cater to over 1 lakh devotees a day after Ram Mandir’s construction is complete, is underway. The design of the railway junction is said to be inspired by the Ram temple itself.
“The stones that are being used in the outer facade of the railway station are of Bansi Paharpur stone, the same stone that is being taken from the quarry in Rajasthan to be used for Ram temple construction. A total of six lifts, four escalators and food plazas on both floors are planned,” said Johari, project head, Northern Railway.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
