Autos, cabs overcharging in Bengaluru, complain passengers as Karnataka lift restrictions

The Karnataka government eased restrictions in Bengaluru Urban from June 14 but with lack of public transport, many passengers have complained that autos and cabs charge hefty amounts from them.
Covid-induced restrictions in Bengaluru Urban eased from Monday as the Karnataka government began the unlocking process. Bengaluru saw autos and cabs plying on city streets in large numbers. Restrictions, however, continue on public transport such as buses and metro trains, leaving passengers dependent on private auto-rickshaws and cabs. India Today's team met a father-son duo who had arrived in Bengaluru from Delhi. The father was seen arguing with an auto driver who asked him to pay Rs 900 from the city railway station to Bilekahalli against the normal fare of about Rs 200-250.More Related News
