The world champions preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup is on course as they completed a T20I series clean sweep over West Indies 2-0.

Warer, who had a silent outing in the first match, returned with a bang as he scored a half-century. The left-hander kept the West Indies under pressure with his brilliant strokeplay. West Indies got the much-needed breakthrough in the 12th over when Odean Smith caught and bowled Warner for 75.

Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith's poor run continued before Tim David's 20-ball 42 lifted Australia to post a competitive total of 178/7. For West Indies, Alzarri Joseph returned with the figures of 3/21 in his four-over quota.

In reply, West Indies had a horrendous start as Mitchell Starc dismissed opener Kyle Mayers (6). The miseries of West Indies' top-order continued as Australia bowlers kept on picking regular wickets. West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran failed to rebuild the innings as he was dismissed cheaply for two runs.

The likes of Jason Holder and Rovman Powell, too, could not do much with the asking run rate climbing. Towards the end, West Indies were restricted to 147/8 with Mitchell Starc taking a four-wicket haul in his four-over quota.

The T20 World Cup defending champions Australia will next take on England in a three-match T20I series, which is part of their preparation for the marquee event, from October 9 to 14 across two venues.
