Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait has alleged that an ink attack on him in Bengaluru was an attempt to kill him. Miscreants threw ink on him during an event in Bengaluru.
Miscreants on Monday threw ink on farmer leader Rakesh Tikait during an event organised by a farmers' organisation at Gandhi Bhavan in Karnataka's Bengaluru. Three people have been held in connection with the attack.
Following the ink attack, clashes broke out between the organisers and the miscreants, leading to both sides attacking each other with plastic chairs.
Speaking to India Today, Rakesh Tikait said, "It was the government's fault. They did not provide any security. It looks like a pre-planned conspiracy. I urge the government to order an investigation and take action against the attackers."
"I was attacked with a mic and I suffered injuries. I don't know if the attackers and the sloganeering are linked, but the government must take action," he added.
Black ink was seen on his turban, face, Kurta, and the green shawl around his neck. Tikait has alleged that it was an attempt to kill him.
"When I was talking, some people suddenly assaulted me. I don't know which group they belong to. If I hadn't blocked the attack with my hand, they would have hit me on the head. It is clear that it was an attempt to kill me," Tikait said.
