According to the police, the victim Rajakumaran has been working with film director Suseenthiran, who resides in Arumbakkam. On Thursday (May 29, 2025), Mr. Suseenthiran lodged a complaint with the Arumbakkam police, stating that Mr. Rajakumaran had gone missing. The police registered a case and launched an investigation.
While the police were searching for him, Mr. Rajakumaran came to the police station and alleged that he had been kidnapped and assaulted by five persons in a car. He said he was then abandoned by the gang after snatching his mobile phone and two-wheeler. Special teams were formed under the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Arumbakkam Ramesh, to trace the suspects.
The police subsequently arrested five suspects — G. Chandrasekar, 33, of West Mambalam, M. Karthikeyan, 25, of West Saidapet, M. Lalit Aditya, 21, of T. Nagar, V. Divakar, 21, of K.K. Nagar, and J. Augustin, 21, of West Saidapet. Seven mobile phones, two bikes, and ₹29,000 were seized from them.
The police said further investigation revealed that the gang had kidnapped Rajakumaran when he came to a tea shop at Razack Garden on Thursday afternoon, crashing their car into his bike. He was detained and assaulted by the gang, forcing him to end his relationship with his girlfriend, the police said.
