
Assam Rifles nab two PLA, KCP militants in Manipur

The Assam Rifles, along with the Manipur Police, apprehended two militants belonging to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) on Tuesday night.
Days after five of its members were killed in an ambush in Manipur, the Assam Rifles apprehended two militants belonging to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) on Tuesday night.
According to sources, troops of the Assam Rifles launched a joint operation with the Manipur Police and apprehended the PLA militant from Bishnupur district and the KCP member from Imphal East district.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
