Rounak Ali Hazarika, a suspended deputy inspector general (DIG) of Assam Police, was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

A suspended deputy inspector general (DIG) of Assam Police was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

Rounak Ali Hazarika was suspended as Assam Police DIG in July this year for travelling abroad several times since 2011 without obtaining permission from the Home department of the state government.
