
Assam Congress MP urges Mamata Banerjee to probe Kolkata hospital’s alleged link in organ trafficking

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has urged Mamata Banerjee to initiate a probe into the human organ trafficking racket which has an alleged link with a hospital in Kolkata.
Congress MP from Assam's Kaliabor Gaurav Gogoi on Thursday wrote a letter to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, urging her to conduct a probe into an illegal kidney trade racket in Assam which has been allegedly traced to a hospital in Kolkata. In his letter, the Congress MP said that, as per media reports from different corners of Assam, several people have been victimized by the human organ trafficking racket.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
