Himanta Biswa Sarma had asked the BJP leaders and office bearers to give up their Personal Security Officers.
The Assam Chief Minister on Saturday asked the BJP leaders and office bearers to give up their Personal Security Officers (PSOs) as this is 'Congress party’s culture'. Addressing the birthday celebration programme of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Guwahati, Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "PSO is a Congress culture and the BJP leaders, workers don’t need PSOs."

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
