Assam: Arms smuggler gunned down by police while trying to flee from custody in Karimganj

An arms smuggler was gunned down by police on Tuesday while trying to flee from custody in Assam's Karimganj district.

An arms smuggler was gunned down by police in Assam’s Karimganj district on Tuesday while trying to escape from their custody after allegedly snatching a gun from police personnel. The deceased arms smuggler has been identified as Nurul Islam. He was arrested by police and Border Security Force (BSF) troops on Monday along with an accomplice from Badarpur area in a joint operation.
