The Indian army will give a proper response to Pakistan that has violated the ceasefire and is trying to attack our borders, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, said in Hubballi on Sunday (May 11, 2025).
“There are reports that Pakistani forces are continuing to attack us even after the ceasefire. This is clearly following double standards. ,” he told reporters.
“Our government has announced that any act of terror will be viewed as war. This is the first time the government has taken an unprecedented stand,” he said. This has made two things clear — that Pakistan is an old hand in following double standards when it comes to supporting cross-border terrorism. It has also confirmed that the defence forces in that country are beyond the control of the elected government there, he added.
“Following the Pahalgam attack, the Indian army conducted a precision strike and destroyed terror camps in Pakistan and Pak Occupied Kashmir. That is because our government gave the army a free hand to teach a lesson to our cunning neighbour,” he said.
“The Indian Army has destroyed more than nince terrorist camps in Pakistan on the first day itself. A large number of terrorists and their families have been killed in this attack. Many terrorist hideouts have been destroyed. The central government, which has taken a pledge to completely eradicate terrorism in the country, has taken a very tough stance against Pakistan-sponsored terror. This is unprecedented. Even the announcement that acts of terror would be considered an act of war, is also unprecedented,” Mr Joshi said.
“It was Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations that called the Indian DGMO and pleaded for a ceasefire. But now, they have violated it. The Indian Army will give a befitting reply to Pakistan, which has always supported terrorists and terrorist organisations,” he said.
The BJP leader claimed that there was a drastic decrease in terror incidents after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister. “There were a large number of deadly terrorist attacks in the 1980s and 1990s. But now, most such activities have been curbed. Those days, the Indian response was very mild. But we have begun invading mainland Pakistan and taking out terror infrastructure. In just one day, we erased nine terror hideouts,’‘ he said.
