The Indian Army has decided to take strict action, including court martial against, officers and trainee cadets found guilty in the investigation.
Even as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has started a probe into the officers’ recruitment scam, the Army has decided to take the strictest possible action, including court martial, against officers and trainee cadets found guilty in the investigation. Top Army sources told India Today that officers from the force are investigating the case along with CBI officials to find out details of more personnel involved in the corruption ring. “There will be severe action against all those involved in the case. The candidates, who paid money to enter the services, would be thrown out irrespective of whether they have joined the force as officers or are still undergoing training in our academies,” the sources said.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
