The Service Selection Centres carry out the Services Selection Board tests for candidates who apply for being selected as officers in the three services. “Based on a proactive operation by Army intelligence agencies, a case of possible malpractice in selection procedures at a Services Selection Centre has come to light. Since the scope of investigation involves multiple agencies, including civil entities, Indian Army has decided to hand over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation,” Army officials told India Today TV.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
